Implementation Services in 2026: what changed
New migration tools and a revised standard for wiping drives. Cisco, HPE and Nutanix, survey to handover: supplied and integrated.
What changed this year for installing chosen infrastructure, from survey to handover, and what to put in your requirement.¹
Every date comes from the vendor's or publisher's own page. Third-party reports are marked.
1. Certificates on every server controller
Redfish 2025.3 added automatic certificate enrollment over ACME or SCEP. Every server's management controller gets its certificate before any other configuration.

2. Migration tools
Nutanix Move 6.3 (notice of July 29, 2026), Red Hat MTV 2.10 and VCF Operations HCX 9 are the migration tools. HCX is now part of VCF, with WAN optimization and disaster recovery removed.

3. The as-built record
NetBox 4.7 (September 2, 2026) holds the as-built record of what was installed where.

4. Wiping retired drives
Retired drives are sanitized to NIST SP 800-88 Revision 2, which replaced the old technique tables with a pointer to IEEE 2883. One record is kept per serial number.

What this means for a buyer
Installation follows a named release of each standard and tool, and every step leaves a record.
